Manchester has a strong footballing culture with two of the biggest teams in the Premier league calling it home. We were curious about where the best places to watch the World Cup in Manchester were so here are our six recommendations for this glorious city:
Yates Manchester, M1
It’s right in the middle of town and just a five minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station. Yates Manchester is one of the most vibrant places to watch sports in this beautiful city. It’s a chameleon style venue so just imagine great sports in the daytime transforming into a glowing party venue so you can celebrate your nations win (or commiserate loss!).
The Lost Dene, Deansgate, M3
The Lost Dene is a great place for real ales with a mature variety and food choices to make your mouth water. Definitely try the pulled chicken and chorizo nachos! With many TV’s it’s been revered as the spot for the Champions League final so World Cup games are an absolute must here. The staff are also really helpful so make the most of the table service on big games this World Cup!
Walkabout Manchester Printworks, M4
This is an Australian themed bar with a laid back vibe. Walkabout Manchester features gigantic 60 inch screens to watch the World Cup on. They also have some authentic Aussie food to dig into while you watch your favourite national teams go at it.
This is a great party venue too – so it’s even more fun when you need to celebrate with some state of the art visuals to feast your eyes on.
Flour and Flagon Manchester, M1
For those looking for a bit of luxury as they watch the game, look no further than the Flour and Flagon. It’s a great pub just off Oxford Road with some very lush interior. I would definitely recommend getting some plates from the tapas menu and sharing that around with your pals as you watch the game. As a bar with one of the more relaxing atmospheres it’s still vibrant on game days with super helpful staff. Definitely enquire for a booking with free table service so you don’t miss a single second of World Cup action.
Turing Tap Manchester, M13
The Turing Tap is situated in the midst of the student area of Manchester and is very popular with locals and passionate sports lovers. Featuring a large and changing selection of ales and whiskies they do so much more than the usual pubs and bars in the area. The food offerings are plentiful and is becoming a more popular place every week so definitely watch the World Cup here if you are close.
Footage Manchester, M1
Situated on Oxford Road in the heart of Manchester, this venue showcases the two biggest screens for sport in Manchester. It also screams out a great selection of cocktails and has a youthful cinematic vibrancy to it. It’s truly an immersive place to watch sport and is one I am definitely going to be popping into for some table service for the England games.
